本文从学习动机与学习策略的关系入手,对医学院校英语专业学生的学习动机、学习策略和它们之间的关系展开了深入细致的分析。

2. 文献综述

Learning motivation isconsidered by Gardner and Macintyre (1993) as the desire to realize the goal,efforts to achieve the goal and satisfaction with the completion of goal.

In recent years,Dornyei(2011:4) pointed out that most researchers agree that motivation isrelated to the direction and intensity of human behavior. He found thegenerality of the scholars description. Motivation is one of thenonintellectual factors that determine the success or failure of foreignlanguage learning. Its function is to stimulate the original power of foreignlanguage learning and provide power for further learning. (Dornyei,1994:274)

The most classic theory isthe one that Gardner and Lambert put forward in 1959. They divided motivationsinto two types, one is instrumental motivation and the other is integrativemotivation. Instrumental motivation is for a practical purpose, such as a goodjob or higher salary. Integrative motivation refers to learners who want tointegrate into the community because they are interested in the target languageor the community of the target language. Gardner pointed out that integrativemotivation includes attitude towards learning environment, the strength ofmotivation and degree of integration.
