3. 国内外研究现状

As a famous novel in the 2000s, the Kite Runner has been studied both aboard and domestically since it was written. People can find different way to interpret the various themes reflected by the novel.By analyzing the papers written by foreign scholars, I find that some of them mainly show readers the multiculturalism in Afghanistan while have not reveal how it affects this country. Some have analyzed factors causing problems in Afghanistan, like geopolitical reasons. As Agnello and other scholars explained the aim of their essay, #8220;The research outlines geographical and cultural geographic features of Afghanistan--a place torn by military efforts of several nations.#8221; Besides of these two researching direction, scholars overseas also take the book as a educating tool at school, mainly analyzing the adolescent images in this book. While studies on the Kite Runner at home focus more on the interpretation of the two main characters, Amir and Hassan, in this novel. Their attentions are paid to the growing process of Amir. Indeed, they view the book from an aspect that is clear to be seen. In their studies, the book seems as a book mainly tells the story of an Afghan boy. So this is why this essay is necessary, since it will interpret the book through a comparatively deeper way rather than conclude what every one is able to see.

Firstly, the essay will have a thorough study on the definition of nationalism. It may need a lot of information on psychology. Secondly, the essay will analyze the features of characters one by one and figure out the connections among them so as to find the root of the formation of this nationalism. Lastly, the essay will analyse the impacts of nationalism on the basis of studies on the status quo and the pains Afghan have suffered in the past.
